Hello! I'm Sandy. I'm an award-winning Qualitative Researcher, Development Consultant, DEI Content Expert.

In a past life, I was a bassoonist, trained at the Juilliard School of Music.

I'm here to turn your stories into critically acclaimed productions and publications.

I am passionate about storytelling.

My mission is to give life to stories that —for so long— were submerged and erased.

I advise executive producers, writers, and studios, for shows including NAACP-Image Awards nominated show, “Godfather of Harlem,” starring Forest Whitaker.

My gold standard: backing everything up with solid research.

In my spare time, you can find me looking for small, clean waves to surf on my longboard.
About Me

MY SERVICES
Making the strange familiar and the familiar strange.

DEVELOPMENT CONSULTING

My consulting gets your work critical acclaim. From conception to completion. From podcasts to one hour drama series. I drive your creative projects so they are off and running with inclusive content.

  • I find the essence of your story and bring it to the foreground.

  • I juice up turning points, a climax, and a resolution to crank out a gripping story.

  • I back all of my suggestions with research and my extensive knowledge, shaped by my PhD in Cultural Anthropology, Honours B.A. in Sociology and Political Science

  • I apply my expertise as a writing instructor at a top university.

INTERVIEWS

I incorporate the work of top scholars into your projects. The bread and butter of cultural anthropology is what we call “deep hanging out.” A vital component to this process is the ability to conduct meaningful interviews.

  • I involve scholars, specializing in your subject matter, in the writing of your script.

  • I find participants to run usability tests, focus groups, and diary studies.

  • I conduct one-on-one interviews, when needed.

  • I am an expert in conducting both structured and semi-structured interviews.

ARCHIVAL RESEARCH

I find the weird and the wacky by taking deep dives into the archives to find real-life events or social phenomena to thicken your story.

  • I conduct intensive and extensive research using peer-reviewed, academic publications.

  • I make complex ideas suitable for pop culture.

“Research is formalized curiosity. It is poking and prying with a purpose. It is a seeking that he who wishes may know the cosmic secrets of the world and they that dwell therein."
